I have a cyclical approach to getting things done: energise, prioritise, focus. When things get busy it’s tempting to revert to ‘do, do, do.’ I wanted to check the robustness of my approach so on one of my busiest days I deliberately made time for timeouts. Simple things like a guided meditation while in a cab between meetings, a 1 minute check every hour to make sure priorities were on track and jumping up from focused work to move my body and get the blood flowing. The result? A busy day done better. In timeouts we trust!
